Back to the Beach

I am in Cotuit, Ma.  I have been swimming in the sea.  It is a most magnificent day.  Margot is off to a phone meeting.  I am in the middle of cleaning up the first draft of “Beyond Expectation,” the next novel.  It is hard work.  I do not feel like working, but I when I swim, as I swim, I work.  I know that is fact, because when I return from the sea, ideas present themselves.  Thank goodness for that.  “Beyond Expectation” is set on Cape Cod, set in the village where I swim every morning, set in another town, in a house overlooking the sea at my favorite beach; Dowses Beach… where I swim every afternoon.  In between swims I write.  I cogitate, I agonize, I edit.
